My name is Gabriel Gonzalez and I am an Army brat son of two Puerto Rican parents. For most of my life I have lived in Florida but I have spent significant time in New Orleans, Central Virginia, and the DC metropolitan area. Because of that, along with living in Italy for half a year, I believe I have a unique view of situations. I am also in the middle of obtaining my CFA.
I have five years of experience in trading and seven years of experience overall in the financial services industry. I was a former market maker specializing in Chinese and Japanese American Depository Receipts (Chinese and Japanese stocks that trade in US markets) as well as the lead agency trader for an entire firm, covering equities, credit instruments [including treasuries, corporates, municipals, foreign sovereign debt, foreign corporate debt], options, and other investments.
Also, I’ve been fortunately to have been able to study two of the largest financial crisis in recent history, the first as a result of the tech bubble in the early 2000s and the global financial crisis of 2008 as a result of the housing bubble.
I may post some views that are controversial and may not be in the momentum of the market. Please keep in mind that these views are meant to be for the long term and not the short term.
